Syndeo Certifies Xten’s SIP Softphones for Interoperability with Syndeo PLUS

Vancouver, BC, Canada — September 05, 2014

Syndeo Corporation, a leading vendor of Class 5 softswitch technology, and Xten Networks, a leading provider of award-winning, high-quality SIP softphones and toolkits for IP Telephony networks, today announced that Syndeo has completed interoperability testing of Xten’s SIP softphones against Syndeo’s softswitches and may now be offered as a component of Syndeo’s Voice-over-IP (VoIP) solutions.

The addition of Xten’s softphones to Syndeo’s “PLUS” – a Total VoIP Deployment Solution for cable operators – adds a cost-effective, high-quality “software-only” IP phone that can be deployed rapidly to all of a cable operator’s customers so that they can place VoIP phone calls from their Windows, macOS, LindowsOS personal computers and personal digital assistants.

“Xten’s highly flexible soft phones enhance Syndeo’s ability to deliver high-quality, economical VoIP calling services to millions of cable and DSL subscribers, from a wide variety of convenient user interfaces,” said John Vaughan, chief executive officer of Syndeo. “We welcome Xten as a valued member of the SyndeoPlus+ solution.”

“This new working relationship between Syndeo and Xten has closed the loop with some of the largest Cable providers in North America,” said Erik Lagerway, co-founder and president of Xten Networks, Inc. “VoCable is quickly gaining momentum as providers announce VoIP offerings and now with Syndeo’s certification of Xten softphones the real opportunities for both companies are enormous.”

The Syndeo PLUS VoIP Deployment Solution, created by Syndeo and a team of industry-leading vendors, includes all the products necessary to launch VoIP, including the Call Management Server, Media Gateway Controller, Media Gateway, SS7 Gateway, Announcements Server, RecordKeeping Server, and CALEA Server elements, as well as the systems integration and support services necessary to implement a successful VoIP deployment. Syndeo PLUS vendors include such industry leaders as Syndeo, Nuera Communications, Cognitronics, Telesciences, and SS8 Networks.

Xten’s SIP softphones and toolkits are business-grade IP Telephony solutions, delivering the quality of service and features found in business-class telephones. Some of the extensive features found in Xten’s softphones include; 6 lines, 10-party conferencing, hold, transfer, do not disturb, call forwarding, inbound call ignore, inbound call to voicemail, auto-answer, and auto-conference. Xten’s softphones are fully RFC3261 (Session Initiation Protocol – SIP), RTP/RTCP (RFC 1889) and SDP (RFC 2327) compliant. Xten’s current suite of softphones and toolkits are available for the Windows (Windows 98SE/ME/NT4/2000/XP/CE), macOS and LindowsOS operating systems.
