CounterPath Disrupts Enterprise Market with Upcoming Launch of Bria X

Vancouver, BC, Canada — October 26, 2016

CounterPath Corporation (NASDAQ: CPAH) (TSX: CCV), a global provider of award-winning over-the-top (OTT) Unified Communications solutions for enterprises and carriers, today announced the launch of Bria X – https://www.bria-x.com/. The offering is targeted to CounterPath’s X-Lite community and existing e-store users of over 60,000 small and medium business customers – combined representing millions of deployed licenses. Bria X provides a seamless communication experience delivering secure messaging, presence, screen sharing, voice and video across compatible call servers already deployed within millions of enterprises today. The offering also includes clients built upon CounterPath’s flagship Bria product line for desktop, tablet and mobile devices.

“With the global rise of BYOD and remote or location flexible workers, cloud-based unified communications will become the foundation of collaboration and communication between employees using different networks, call server platforms and devices,” said Donovan Jones, President and Chief Executive Officer at CounterPath. “Bria X is designed to provide businesses with the ability to easily provision teams within a self-management web portal, while empowering employee communication by removing technology barriers – all while enriching their collaboration experience on the device of their choice”.

Highly interoperable and built with enterprise-grade security, Bria X can be deployed within a business or enterprise environment by leveraging a centralized provisioning server empowered by CounterPath’s Stretto platform. Key features include:

  • Secure Messaging – Customers have the ability to send and receive secure messages that synchronizes across all their devices.
  • Presence – Customize a presence status of select from a list of status indicators including Available, Busy, Away, On the Phone and more to reduce communication delays.
  • Seamless Onboarding – From one to many users: Bria X manages provisioning via a user-friendly portal to ensure they have control of all the specific settings required to manage their clients.
  • Integrated Collaboration – Screen-sharing combined with one-to-one and group messaging with HD video calls keeps collaboration alive across a scattered and segmented workforce. Enterprise users can communicate and collaborate any way, any time and across any device.

Bria X is currently offered as an invitation-only closed beta and is expected to become generally available in November. The solution is expected to sell for a low monthly subscription and will provide users with up to three clients (any mix of desktop, tablet, mobile) and will support voice and video against most SIP-based call servers and VoIP service providers. Bria X also includes provisioning, screen sharing, messaging and presence services—all available in a single, seamless interface.
