(NYSE:T), announced today the availability of AT&T CallVantage® Softphone service, arming subscribers with the flexibility to use AT&T's residential VoIP calling service and features from a domestic broadband connection, at home or on the go (where E911 service is available). The company has recently renewed its marketing focus on AT&T CallVantage service as part of a strategy to expand its portfolio of voice solutions and offer more bundling options to consumers and remain competitive in the market.
Developed in conjunction with CounterPath Solutions, Inc.(OTC.BB: CTPS), a leading developer of SIP softphones, the Softphone service enables users to make and receive phone calls directly through their computer. The user-friendly software easily downloads to a PC or laptop. The service includes more than 10 popular and advanced calling features like Caller ID, Call Waiting, Voice Mail, Call Logs, Do Not Disturb and Locate Me services. Softphone users will also benefit from great international calling rates and peer-to-peer videoconferencing capabilities with other AT&T CallVantage Softphone users with the required accessories.
