Setting up Mac Address Book accounts
Bria Stretto automatically pulls the Mac Address Book account contacts into Bria Stretto’s contacts. You can phone or IM them directly from Bria Stretto.
Bria Stretto creates the Mac Address Book account is automatically. To use the Mac Address Book account, make sure the Mac Address Book account is Enabled.
Using you Mac Address Book for presence
If your Mac Address Book contains phone numbers that you know can be used to obtain online activity information about the person through your SIP account, you can perform this additional step.
- In the Mac Address book make sure that the contact type is
Phone
and the label issoftphone
(in lower case). - On the menu bar, click Bria Stretto – Preferences. The Preferences window opens.

Click on the Accounts tab.
- Make sure your Mac Address Book account is enabled. Bria Stretto pulls in the contact with the specified number already set up as a softphone address.
- Open the contact in Bria Stretto and choose the specified phone number in the Primary Presence field and click OK.
Bria Stretto obtains the presence for this contact.
Permissions
Bria Stretto requires permission to use your Mac contacts on macOS Mojave and higher. If you are having issues with your Mac Address Book, check to make sure Bria Stretto has access to your contacts.
- Click to open the Apple menu and select System Preferences.
- Click Security & Privacy and select the Privacy tab.
- Find the Contacts category. Select Bria Stretto to allow access.
Bria Stretto's permissions are updated.
