Xten Networks, Inc., announced today it has released X-PRO, its new SIP User Agent (softphone) for Windows PCs & Wireless PocketPC/CE devices. X-PRO can be used to make free IP-to-IP calls using a service such as pulver.com's Free World Dialup (http://www.freeworldialup.com) or can be used to make IP-to-Phone calls using a pre-paid calling service such as deltathree's iConnectHere (http://www.xten.com/providers.php).
Xten has also released a feature-rich FREE softphone dubbed X-Lite, which does not include some of X-PRO's premium features such as conferencing and multi-proxy, but still provides the same level of call quality. Both X-PRO and X-Lite are fully compatible with other SIP User Agents including Cisco 7900 Series IP Phones and ATA 186 Analog Telephone Adapters.
X-PRO is available as a stand-alone product or packaged with a SIP Proxy Server thereby providing an attractive enterprise solution. X-PRO, which retails for $49, has all the features and functionality of a small business phone system, meaning that a growing company could use X-PRO in place of a traditional PBX. X-PRO can also be branded and customized for distribution.
