CounterPath Releases New Softphone SDK for Desktop, Tablet and Mobile Platforms

CounterPath Corporation (NASDAQ: CPAH) (TSX: CCV), a leading developer of award-winning desktop, tablet and mobile VoIP software products and solutions, today announced the availability of a new Softphone Software Development Kit (SDK) that provides enterprises, operators and solution vendors with the capability to develop customized, SIP-based softphone client applications that encompass proven voice, video and messaging technologies and industry-leading interoperability. In addition to supporting Windows and Mac desktop environments, CounterPath’s new Softphone SDK includes support for Apple’s iOS and Google’s Android mobile platforms.
With the CounterPath SDK, customers that have the necessary in-house software programming expertise to develop their own applications can integrate desktop, tablet and mobile softphone functionality into their solutions without the need to directly handle SIP signaling, SDP (Session Description Protocol) negotiation, media engine/codecs, security and device management. The SDK includes sample application code to further reduce time to market. The CounterPath SDK is developed to support environments natively such as Windows, macOS, iOS and Android.
CounterPath softphone technology is both platform and network agnostic, having passed extensive interoperability testing with the industry’s leading vendors and providers including: Cisco, Avaya, Ericsson, Alcatel-Lucent, NSN, Huawei, BroadSoft, GENBAND, Metaswitch, Genesys, Digium/Asterisk, Mitel, Panasonic, Verizon and others.
