Bria iPad Edition declared a winner by the judging panel and receives ‘Users’ Choice’ award in the ‘Social’ categoryVancouver, BC, Canada — August 6, 2014 —
CounterPath Corporation (NASDAQ: CPAH) (TSX: CCV), a leading developer of award-winning desktop, tablet and mobile VoIP software products and solutions, today announced that its Bria iPad Edition application won multiple awards in the third annual Tabby Awards competition. The Bria iPad Edition was declared a winner by the judging panel and ‘Users’ Choice’ pick in the iPad ‘Social’ category.
Run by the TabTimes, a media outlet exclusively covering news and trends in the tablet industry, the Tabby Awards recognize the best tablet applications worldwide. An international panel of independent judges – including more than 25 app developers and mobile experts – selected the winning apps from submissions worldwide, while the Users Choice awards were based on over 100,000 votes received. According to the Tabby Awards website, the independent judges were encouraged to consider multiple criteria when casting their votes, including: value for user, speed, concept, navigation, design, innovation, ease of use, use of tablet device functions and performance. Winners were announced earlier today by the TabTimes.
"We are proud of this accomplishment and grateful for the recognition", said Todd Carothers, CounterPath's Executive Vice President of Marketing and Products. "All of the apps submitted were of high quality and worthy of merit – so to be selected as the #1 iPad app by a panel of expert judges in the highly coveted 'Social' category, and to win a 'Users Choice' award based on the opinions of actual end-users, is wonderful achievement that further validates our market leadership."
