Xten Networks New X-Lite SoftPhone Integrated with pulver.com's Free World Dialup

Vancouver, BC, Canada — June 09, 2003 – Xten Networks, Inc. and pulver.com announced today they have released a Free World Dialup version of X-Lite, Xten's SIP User Agent (softphone) for Windows PCs & Wireless PocketPC/CE devices. X-Lite FWD automatically registers a new user with Free World Dialup and obtains a FWD telephone number for them.

"Awareness and ease of use represent the only obstacles for 100 million broadband users to join the 25,000 people already taking advantage of Free World Dialup," said Jeff Pulver, CEO, pulver.com. "Xten's new softphone makes the FWD setup process quick and easy."

"FWD users have many choices for VoIP software, but X-Lite is the first softphone to fully integrate with the Free World Dialup registration process," states Mark Bruk, CEO of Xten Networks, Inc. "Internet telephony growth continues to outpace all other areas of telecommunications, and X-Lite FWD further demonstrates our intent to be the leader, in terms of quality, features, reliability, support and price."

X-Lite, in use by over 20,000 users since its launch on April 15th, is fully compatible with other SIP User Agents including Cisco 7900 Series IP Phones and ATA 186 Analog Telephone Adapters. The Xten family of SIP User Agents includes X-Lite, X-PRO and X.NET and will soon be joined by X-Cipher. X-Lite is free and includes all the features found in a standard business telephone. X-PRO, Xten's flagship application, is a premium SIP User Agent with all the features and functionality of a small business phone system, all for only $50. X.NET is an API/SDK for X-PRO, which provides integration of SIP compliant IP telephony into 3rd party applications. X-Cipher is all that X-PRO is plus encryption.

Jeff Pulver launched Free World Dialup on November 11, 2002. FWD adds over 1,500 new members per week and growth continues to accelerate. Free World Dialup members can make no cost calls between each other. Anyone with a broadband connection and a SIP User Agent (IP telephone) can take advantage of the service. FWD assigns a unique number for the user and provides the mechanism for calls between members. Free World Dialup does not use traditional telephone numbers or connect directly to the Public Switched Telephone Network.
