MAC Software Developer - Junior / Intermediate

Description:

CounterPath has immediate needs for junior or intermediate MAC software engineers in our developer team. Strong Objective-C background and experience in using various Apple frameworks is essential. As a member of our team you will develop leading edge multimedia applications for the world’s leading telecommunications providers. The ideal candidate has some experience in the development and life cycle of large-scale software projects from design to maintenance of various product releases. Experience on multiple platforms and cross platform development is desirable. This position is full time and based in Vancouver (BC) or Victoria (BC).

Responsibilities & Duties

Join our team to develop and maintain our MAC softphone offerings
Design implement and improve the existing UI to utilize the latest Apple technologies
Maintain and develop multiple customer branded versions of the softphone products
Work with the core SDK team to improve audio and video capabilities specific for MAC

Required Qualifications:

Computer science degree or relevant degree / work experience.
Strong Objective-C and C++ software development skills
Good understanding of Apple frameworks like Cocoa, WebKit, QT, AVFoundation….
Knowledge of object oriented design patterns
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Be detail oriented
Enjoy and thrive in a team environment
Skilled in code optimization and analysis

Other Desired Qualifications:

Experience in multi-threaded application development
Understanding of VoIP concepts
Networking knowledge and protocols: TCP, UDP, SIP, SRV, DNS, XMPP, HTTP, MSRP, XCAP, SOAP, TR-69...
Real-time application programming experience
Experience in iOS development
